About me, Blog, Inspire, Islam

What would I do if I had $10,000,000?

First of all, this is so unrealistic but hey, we sometimes need a little bit of day dreaming. It keeps us smiling, at least for the day.

If I had that much of amount, I will keep the amount for at least 24 hours in my bank account before planning to spend it. Because, I learned from experience that impulse buys are always a regret in the end. And I don’t want to regret with what I have, well it’s not always that we get a hold of a humongous amount of money!!!

Ok so let’s say it has been kept for a good amount of hours and now I’m only starting to plan on what to buy.

  1. New Home:- The first thing on my mind is to purchase a home near my preferred amenities, like my children’s school, the mosque and maybe the community club (I have this liking for community clubs where i can attend classes or send my kids for great life skills activities);) What kind of house am I eyeing on? A house with at least 6 bed rooms in it. Why? Because I’d want 3 rooms to be our bed rooms, husband and I, kids will have their own individual rooms. 1 praying room. 1 crafters room for me to get busy on the sewing machines and create more beautiful and practical craft pieces. And the last room would be for guests, anyone from our family who wants to sleepover as long as they want to. Sounds fun isn’t it?! A productive home is when the rooms are fully utilized!
  2. Revamp the whole house:- When we have moved into a new home, I would want to renovate and get new furnitures to compliment my most liked home interior design concept – minimalist. Why I want a new home and spend on home renovation and all is that I want my home to be as homely as possible. Of course with great people in the house, the house will indeed be more than just a house, it will be a welcoming home. And I want to achieve that, for my children. Kids will grow and I want them to want to stay home more often and maybe ask friends over (when I’m around) to do their homework instead of them going out to public places or to their friends place. Other than that reason, I just want a beautiful home because I love a beautiful organized home. And of course IKEA will be in my top list to shop for home because they have an awesome range of home products that is not only minimalist, but also tidy and practical.
  3. Driving license:- Now that I have a beautiful home, I would like to pick up a very useful skill! I said it. Vehicle driving license! Not only for me, but for my husband too!! Well, simply because it’s going to be useful in the long run. 😋 Why a car driving license instead of a motorcycle? Because I’ve got a family already of course!
  4. Car:- When you own a driving license but have no vehicle of your own, it’s incomplete right? So yeah. I’d like a 10 seater mini bus. You must be wondering why I need such a big car when I have only 2 kids. It’s because I plan to bring our other family members as well. Maybe our parents, siblings and their children. The more the merrier you know. 😂😂😂
  5. Classes:- Enough of the house and car already let’s move on to things I’d like to do that’s truly beneficial. I’d like to send my children, husband and myself to religious classes.I don’t want to miss out on this golden opportunity !! Nowadays, even religious classes has a price to it and it’s not always that we can afford for the whole family to do this. If possible, I want to see my children obtain a diploma certificate in Islamic studies. In syaa Allah. Because this will benefit them fully and that I will not be worried about any lacking knowledge that they must bring for the life hereafter.
  6. Zakat:- If I do not do this while I am given that huge amount, it will all go to waste. To be honest, I do not know a lot about zakat but I will learn as much as I can now and commit to this one ibadah. In syaa Allah Aamiin.
  7. Haji:- Nope, not for me alone, but for my husband, parents and children. Yes, to the most holy place on earth, Makkah. In my 5th point, I said I’d like to attend religious classes, it is linked to this point here. If I am knowledgeable and hopefully guided, I will fulfill this.

Ok so I have come to my last plan on spending an enormous amount of money, I hope with all this hopes and dreams, would come true, but as I say, it’s just me day dreaming. Unless, I really did achieve great career or business venture. Well, currently I’m just a common laborer with a simple yet happy family. We will still work on all these dreams but according to what we can afford. A huge house or not, we still have to pray even if we don’t have a praying room, we still welcome family members to sleepover even if they had to sleep in our kids bedroom, and I will still want to sew stuff ! Even if we don’t own a car, there’s always the public transport to take and it’s cheaper too! Religious classes will still be accomplished with Allah’s great will and our determination to attend them. I will do best to achieve these dreams even if I hadn’t had a huge amount of money. This is being dreamy but working on it. And it would mean a lot more than just getting a 10million dollars cash. And with that, I end my blog post.

I hope and pray for all of our well beingand may we be amongst the grateful and thankful people. Aamiin.

Forgiveness

Bismillahirahmanirahiim

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatu dear brothers and sisters

I must admit

I ain’t no angel. It’s pretty clear. I sinned, lied a little or maybe a lot which I can’t recall, made a number of disappointing history, hurt someone intentionally or not. I did.All because I am me. A human. A slave to the Almighty. Therefore I seek forgiveness from my God, Allah swt. But all in all, I was cheated too, people disappoint me, hurt me and tell tales that truly hurt me and my family.

Especially now in this era of technology and the all time favorite social media platform – FACEBOOK. We post and share our beautiful memories, but some envied or upset about our success, achievement or happiness and condemned us without thinking twice before taking action. They forgot that I have imperfections. As the saying goes, we can’t please everyone. And since they have forgotten that we aren’t perfect, they pin point on all our cons instead of praising our pros. It hurts. Truly it hurts. The good things I shared, this individual never praise or support morally by liking or commenting positively. Not that I hard up on their likes and comments, but it came as a surprise when this individual commented only to demoralize and condemn. I have had this many times. Because people misunderstood me in so many ways. They don’t know me personally, not close enough to know me. I do things not to hurt anyone. I always try not to ever hurt anyone. I do my best not to. However, misunderstanding is bound to happen because short minded people exists.

Whatever it is.. I am still hurt. And I seek from Allah azza wajal to take this pain away and replace it with forgiveness and love for the sake of Allah s.w.t. And so someone sent me this right away when the online dispute ended. I hope this benefits many of us whom got bullied, online or offline, criticized, demoralized, slandered or abused. Let’s forgive. In syaa Allah… Allah s.w.t will help us… Ease our pain and suffering emotionally/mentally. Aamiin

How to be able to forgive people:
1. Believe in Qada’ & Qadar (6th pillar of faith)
2. Sincerely accept life’s fate
3. Tawakkul
4. Feed your mind and soul with positivity. Will it matter in 6mths, a year or two? If no, move on.
5. Bring yourself closer to Allah swt (pray and do more ibadah)
6. Go for more religious talks
7. Give charity and volunteer

Why you should forgive people:
1. For your own peace
2. Whatever has happened is beyond control, so stop delving back into the matter
3. Don’t look back
4. Learn from it and make you a better and peaceful-minded/hearted person

In syaa Allah …

Let’s move on 😃

Instilling love in marriage

Mawaddah : The meaning of the name/word Mawaddah is LOVE in Arabic.
Some people decided to get married because of mawaddah, and even in this era, there are people whose parents decide for them. Not that they are old-fashioned or their perception of life are outdated. It is sometimes the lack of confidence in themselves to approach the opposite gender and proceed with the somewhat natural process of knowing one another, fall in love and introduce to their respective families. So the decision making is given wholely  to their all time number one supporters – mom & dad.
Be it a planned marriage by the parents or the couples themselves, the process are usually more or less the same. Both sides of the families will meet and warm up with a few or tons of topics, basic conversations and moving on to  planning and deciding the details of the wedding.
And if all is well, a wedding is held with blessings of friends, relatives and family.
So, a new family member is added and the family became much bigger and merrier in just a day.
Now, this means the couples whom decided for themselves have somewhat had the mawaddah between them already. Syukur Alhamdulillah may their love for one another for the sake of Allah s.w.t will never die and shall last till jannah. Aamiin.
What about the couple whom their parents decided for them?
It’s clear that at least a percentage of these couples are feeling a little shy, awkward, uncomfortable or possibly distant.
But, in many cases, to the best of my knowledge, couples whom their parents decided for them, turned out well and as good as the couples whom decided their own life partner.
The question is, how??

For some, we love one another for being who we are, beautiful, kind, great sense of humor or handsome. But what if the love is for the sake of Allah s.w.t? That’s what keeps it going. Because loving one another means that both of them are doing their very best to please the Almighty, Allah azza wajal.
That explains a little bit on how they can grow the love(mawaddah) even when they were total strangers “caught” in a wonderful knot called nikah.

Man and woman are made to be different. So how do they get along with so much differences? I believe that opposites attracts has got something to do with this too you know. 😉
Now, according to Islam, women are created from a crooked rib.
This concept of woman being created from man is empathized in the following verses in the Noble Quran

“And one of His signs is that He created mates for you from yourselves that you may find rest in them, and He put between you love and compassion; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.” (Al-Rum : 21)

“He it is Who created you from a single being, and of the same (kind) did He make his mate, that he might incline to her; so when he covers her she bears a light burden, then moves about with it; but when it grows heavy, they both call upon Allah, their Lord: If Thou givest us a good one, we shall certainly be of the grateful ones”. (Al-Araaf : 189)

There are scientific facts that enforce the idea of Eve being created from Adam’s rib which are:
1. The system of the genetic code in the cells of man is identical to that of a woman which indicates that they came from one origin

2. It is a fact that some living bodies can create other living bodies without losing anything. This happens in case of reproduction by division as in unicellular organisms and some multicellular organisms like Hydra.

Some people understood from this hadith that it refers to woman’s creation as being crooked in nature while man’s creation was straight and complete. This is, of course, a misunderstanding because in Quran Allah Almighty says :“Certainly We created man in the best make.” (Alteen :4)

“Who made good everything that He has created, and He began the creation of man from dust.” (Alsajda : 7)

In fact this kind of understanding neglected the scientific miracle in this hadith as well as gave a wrong impression about how Islam regards women.

To understand this hadith we have to understand first that both men and women are created in (the best make). None of them is created better than the other.

So what does this hadith speak about..?
This hadith is one of the hadiths that explain the difference in the nature of men and women. When you say that a rib is bent, it does not mean that this is a defect in its manufacture, you are actually explaining how it looks like. So women are in fact different than men but no body said that their creation is less perfect than that of men. It says that her characteristics are different than that of a man (not identical). So Allah’s messenger is advising men not to try to change the characteristics of a woman to be like that of a man or he would not enjoy her presence beside him.

So why did Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him chose this simile (The woman is like a rib)..?

To understand that we have to first understand how our ribs look like. Ribs are curved on both sides of our bodies to create a cage to protect the heart, the major arteries and veins as well as the lungs which are all essential for life continuity. So the curved nature of the rib is one of the signs of God’s perfection in creation of human and if they were straight they would not give the maximum security for the heart and lungs as the cage shape that the rib’s curvature produce.

Consequently, saying that a woman is created from a crooked rib is to explain that she has all the characteristics she require to perform her function perfectly which is protection for her family and children as well as her mercy. So if one tries to change a woman’s characteristics to be like his then she would not be able to perform her function on earth which is mercy and protection of her loved ones. Honoring this nature in women and not trying to change it is what makes life enjoyable.
And with that, that is how even strangers from the start, wondrous things happens, with Allah’s will, couples get along well despite their differences.

I wish you well and may Allah azza wajal grants you mawaddah, sakinah, rahmah, success, happiness, prosperity, greatness of Iman, taqwa and guidance here and thereafter.
Aamiin..
